I don't like the craze of painting over beautiful wood cabinets like maple, oak or pecan. It's really ruining the natural wood. Pine or fir is OK for painting because it's so common. This trend will run it's course, and all that paint will have to come off like that last time everything in site was painted or decoupaged. The wood grain will never be the same, though.
